Kindergarten Pre-Registration
Henderson County Schools Kindergarten Pre-Registration
Pre-registration for Kindergarten in the Henderson County School System will be Thursday, March 15 from 3:00-6:00 in each Henderson County Elementary School. All children who will be five years old on or before August 15 are eligible to register for kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year.
Certified Birth Certificate (not the mother’s copy). *Children born in Tennessee can obtain a certified birth certificate from the Health Department.
Social Security Card
Proof of Immunizations on a Tennessee Certificate of Immunization form from the Health Department or a Physician’s office.
Copy of Physical Examination (within 1 calendar year)
Two (2) Proofs of County Residence (E-911address) (Ex: electric bill, water bill, etc.)
All registration documents must be in order before school begins on August 1, 2018. Parents will be made aware of any deficiencies on March 15. Failure to provide the above documents by registration on August 1, 2018 will delay a student’s enrollment in school.
No Kindergarten student will be allowed to begin school until ALL documents are completed and on file.
Note from the nurse
Flu season is upon us and this is a friendly reminder about our policy.
Please use the following guidelines if your child is not feeling well.
1) Do not send with a fever over 100 degrees.
2) Do not send if child has vomiting or diarrhea, with or without fever. Follow the 24 hour rule on this as well.
3) Do not send if child has pink or red eye that was matted or has yellow discharge.
4) Also, remember to follow the 24 hour rule; do not send until fever free (without medication) for 24 hours or started antibiotic therapy for 24 hours.
Please remember that these guidelines are to keep our children healthy! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call.

Parent Involvement Night
Parents and students are invited to join the Westover parent involvement team, Henderson County 4-H, and staff from Life-fitness for a night of health awareness, fitness, and fun. There will be presentations from Westover Staff members and Mr. Blake Burke on health and fitness and how it relates to school performance while students participate in activities centered around making good food choices and fitness. Fill out the gold form sent home today as soon as possible.

Also, Westover is the school of the week, next week, at Life-Fitness. If we have 10 Westover peeps join the gym next week, our school will get a donation of $500! If you have thought about joining next week is the time. Please support this local business and our school.

District Assessment Schedule
TN State Assessments

The Henderson County School System will be participate in the TN State Assessments during the Fall and Spring of the 2017 - 2018 school year. Below you will find a link to the TN State Assessment Schedule for the 2017 - 2018 School Year.

Dates for individual test will vary by school and grade level. For more information concerning specific dates for your child’s assessments, please contact the guidance department at the school in which they are enrolled.
Important Reminders
*The building opens at 7:00. Please don't drop your child off prior to this time.
*Please remember when sending food with your child that Westover is a peanut free school.
*Please put names on all backpacks, lunchboxes, and jackets. If your child is missing something, please have them to check the lost and found.
*If your child is not going home the typical way, please send a note to the school so that we can make sure your child gets to the correct location safely.
